Trail This journey allows you to discover the entrance into one of the Magical city of the Incas of our world today. It is one of the short inca trail that gives access to Machu Picchu
in the middle of the jungle. As one of the most important trails since the time
of the Incas until the present day, this short inca trail will allow you to enjoy the
flora and fauna of the woods and archeological sites, such as Chachabamba and
Wiñaywayna. It also crosses the 4-day Inca Trail, which is the principal gate
to the Miracle of Machu Picchu.
From the
city of Cusco we leave in the early morning by private transport towards Ollantaytambo,
where we will board the train to Machu Picchu. Your guide will give you all the
information you need before you arrive at your destiny. Starting your climb,
you may appreciate a beautiful view of the Urubamba River that flows through
the chain of mountains. As we continue, we will arrive at the archeological
site of Wiñaywayna, a beautiful and peaceful place in the middle of the
mountains. After our visit we continue our way / walk until we cross the 4-day
Inca Trail, and following the Trail we arrive at the Sun Gate (Inti Punku).
From there you may admire the magical City of Machu Picchu and the mountain of
Huayna Picchu that stands like a guardian to this beautiful Inca City. We
continue our descent to the check point to register, and from there we will
take a bus to our hotel in Aguas Calientes.
In the
early morning we will leave the hotel to take a bus to Machu Picchu, the
Magical City of the Incas, which is considered a jewel of Inca architecture
with agricultural terraces, neighbourhoods, squares, streets, an astronomic
observatory etc. Constructed upon the slopes of the mountain, in the middle of
nature, it is considered one of the miracles of today’s world. UNESCO has
recognized it as a part of the common Natural and Cultural Heritage of Mankind,
as it was an important religious, political and administrative center in the
epoch of the Inca. The altitude is about 2450 m. After exploring this Magical
City, you may like to explore the mountain of Huayna Picchu. From the top of
this mountain you can enjoy an impressing overview of the entire City of Machu
Picchu. It is advised to make reservations months in advance, so please do not
hesitate to contact us, if you like to include Huayna Picchu. We will return to
Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, where our
driver is waiting to take us back to the hotel in Cusco.
