In the early morning, we leave Cusco by private transport to our destination in the Sacred Valley. We make a stop in the archeological city of Ollantaytambo, from which we continue to 82 km., where we will meet our team of carriers, who are in charge of bringing all the tracking material. There, our cook will prepare us a good breakfast to start our walk. Along the trajectory you may enjoy natural passages throughout the valley, and one of the mountains that stands as a guardian to the valley, Huaccay Wilca, better known as Veronica. Following the course of the Urubamba River, we arrive at the beautiful view point of Llactapata. From this point you may enjoy the Inca residence of Llactapata with agricultural terraces and urban zones. Continuing our hike, we arrive at the small village of Huayllabamba to stay the night over in a camp, in two person tents. But before that, we will have dinner together, prepared by our chef cook. About 6 to 7 hours walking.
After breakfast, we start our climb through the Woods, covered with native trees, mosses and bromelias from the area, until we arrive at Llulluchapampa (3,800 m), where the vegetation changes with the presence of into Andean straw. From there, you can see the Warmihuañusca pass. Continuing our climb we arrive at the highest point, which is also called the pass of the dead woman. From there, you have a magnificent panoramic view and connection with nature. Then, we will descend until we reach the camp of Paccamayu, the place where we will shave lunch and stay over.
A beautiful day of walking with plenty of history, small archeological sites, flora and fauna. The hike begins with a climb up the second pass called Runkuraccay (3,630 m). From there, we walk up to a place that was really important in the time of the Incas, Sayacmarka, which is constructed on a rock outcrop in the middle of the woods that cover the Inca site. After that, we will pass through the Chaquiccoccha camp until we reach the ultimate highest point. It is called the village in the clouds (Puyupatamarka), a small astronomic point in the past, from where you have an impressing view. Then, we will have our final descent to the Wiñaywayna camp where we will spend the night camping.
A day of dreams coming true, to be present in one of the wonders of the modern world. Today we will have breakfast very early and we will say goodbye and thank you to the team of carriers, thanks to whom we could realize the coveted Inca Trail. We will take our final track to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), an incredible place with a magnificent view over the city of Machu Picchu. When we get to the Inca City, our guide will make us discover points of major importance in the time of the Incas, so we can appreciate the importance of the magical city. After exploring we will be sad to leave, but who knows we may say: “See you soon Machu Picchu”, and we may come back with our loved ones. We will take the bus to Aguas Calientes and return to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, Cusco.
