It is located south of Cusco city. The South Valley contains a series of attractions within which we can highlight; archeology, gastronomy and nature (Tipón, Piquillaqta, Huacarpay and Saylla), framed in a dreamlike landscape.

Within the context of the South Valley, there are the Huacarpay wetlands, which are located in the district of Lucre, at an altitude of 9900 ft. This Wetland includes four permanent lagoons, and swamps sections.

Pikillaqta

Is a human settlement belonging to the Wari culture (Pre-inca), it consists of rooms, warehouses and temples linked by fortified streets with walls over 4 meters high.

Tipón

Tipón is a very well preserved archaeological site, in the place there are 12 terraces that are still cultivated, some enclosures and irrigation system considered a masterpiece of hydraulic engineering currently used by the local population.

Andahuaylillas

Andahuaylillas is a town located 40 kilometers from Cusco whose main attraction is the Andahuaylillas Church also called "The Sistine Chapel of America", due to the high quality of the pieces of art found in it. The structure was built in the 16th century.

Climate, The southern valley shares certain climatic values ​​with Cusco city, although in the deepest area of ​​Lucre and Andahuaylillas temperatures between 70° to 78° F. can be perceived. In general, the average temperature ranges between 55° to 60° F. considering extraordinary drops of 26° F (at night) between the months of June and July.
